Summary

The Moynihan Train Hall Redevelopment was a $1.6 billion infrastructure initiative led by Empire State Development in partnership with key railroad stakeholders, including Amtrak and the Long Island Railroad (LIRR). The project transformed the historic James A. Farley Post Office into a state-of-the-art transportation hub, serving as an extension of Penn Station. The revitalized facility includes a 225,000-square-foot central hall featuring a 92-foot-high skylight, nine platforms, and 17 tracks to accommodate Amtrak and LIRR services.
